Here are the boys on Sunday morning, heading for church. Mason's recital went well yesterday, he did a good job. Now we just need to find a new piano teacher since his is headed off to college. Lee is glad to have boards done, he started his ortho rotation today. School starts in one week and the boys are excited! Ethan has a friend in our ward that will be in his class, which will be great for him. It will also be great because I can carpool with his mom!

just an update...

We are just getting ready for school to start, the kids are excited. Ethan will be going to preschool 3 days a week and Mason will be starting the second grade. Lincoln is now walking and is trying so hard to keep up with the other two. Lee takes step 2 of boards tomorrow, we will all be glad to have that over. It is hard to believe that Lee is in his 4th and final year of med school. It's surreal to think that he will be a doctor in only nine months! He has decided to specialize in orthopedic surgery and is working hard towards a residency. Who know where we will live a year from now! We have loved Virginia so much and will be sad to leave but would LOVE to be closer to family. Mason has his first piano recital on Sunday, and he has written his first song which he will be performing at the recital. He has named it "Siberian Night". One of my friends said that Mason is an "old soul", which is so true. He loves musicals, his favorite movie is "Phantom of the Opera", and he loves anything beautiful and unique. How many 7-year-olds want to be an English Constable when they grow up? The other day our neighbor was getting ready to grill something and Mason looks out the window and says, "It looks like ol' sparky's getting ready to fire up the grill!" I have no idea where that came from! Ethan is still loving spiderman and asks me everyday, "How long 'till I grow up and I will be spiderman?" He is the most sensitive little boy. Linc is just getting to where he has it figured out that is he squeals loud enough, one of us is bound to come give him what he wants. His brothers spoil him, and Lee is wrapped around his finger. Life is great in my house of boys, I wouldn't have it any other way!

Broughs in Richmond

We brough Ben and Nicki and fam to Richmond, it was fun to show them a few sights around here. We took them to Jamestown and to the James River in downtown Richmond.

So much history!

We went to Roanoke Island which is where the famous "lost colony was". We stood on the spot where the first settlement was established (Fort Raleigh)

Pirates!

The Outer Banks is full of pirate history. We took a ferry over to Ocracoke Island, which is supposedly where Blackbeard was killed. It was a lot of fun! The kids loved it.

Outer Banks memories...

Wright Brothers

While in Kitty Hawk, we went to the Wright Brothers memorial, where the first flight took place...

Outer Banks...

I am finally getting to the point where I have time to update... The Outer Banks was a blast. The kids had a blast at the beach and Lee was able to come out for the last weekend. Mason was in the water the entire time, and Ethan stayed clear of the waves and played in the sand a lot. Lincoln loved both waves and sand! Daniel, Ben and Nicki and fam came out for 2 weeks, the kids had so much fun together!

Outer Banks

I am at an internet cafe in KMart so I have no pics to post right now, but we are in the Outer Banks and having a blast! Ben, Nicki, and fam (along with Daniel) are here and we have been regulars at the beach. We have all been boogie boarding and it's a blast. We have been crab hunting and found TONS of crabs, especially at night, they are everywhere! Today we went to the Wright Brothers Monument in Kitty Hawk and saw the runway of the first flight! We have been to Roanoke Island to the Aquarium there, and the kids all got foot-longs at Captain Franks Hot Dogs! We saw some Dolphins not far from the beach one day, which was awesome. We have seen some huge Jelly Fish off the pier. We all love the Beach life. Anyway, I will post more later with some pics!
